Pedestal Plates Just Listed

Sometimes when you are out antiquing or hitting the garage sales, you find things that you have to take home. You can imagine the possibilities of "what can be."
This was one of those magical times.
The pedestal above was not a pedestal in the beginning. What we have here is a silver plated tray and a candle base.
When I first laid eyes on the tray, I knew right away it would be painted and made into a beautiful pedestal.
It took time to find the perfect base, but it was well worth the wait.

Just look at all the roses and the detail, it's lovely. Would you believe it started life out as silver? Ugh, it was ugly!! But not anymore!!

I painted a pretty doily pattern in pick, but I am showing the pedestal and cookies with a doily on the tray.
I am not selling this doily, but if I were displaying this item, I would certainly have a doily under the faux cookies.

I listed the pedestal with three of my faux cookies. All are heart shaped, painted, iced, sugared with German glass glitter and then decorated with handmade paper and handmade clay roses. I also love to add some pearls for a bit of bling. I hope you enjoy this latest from Someplace In Thyme.

I Have An Addiction

I have a "thing" for tags. I have said it before and I suppose I will continue to say it. I LOVE THEM!
I made them and I buy them from others. I use them and I give them away. I tried to stop, but I am sick, I can't.

Cutting out shapes and playing with ink and color, somehow calms me. If I am stressed, or tied of playing around with the sewing machine, I find stamping fun and restful.

I am a weaver and so it's no surprise I would have a basket tag.

You don't have to be a basket lover to appreciate the beauty of this tag. It's just cute!!

This paper screamed a little Paris to me. Notice the blue jewels? Fun.....

Tags are perfect as gifts or on just about anything you can think of.

How about a wine lover? My sister in law would love these. She enjoys giving a fine wine to friends, and these tags would be wonderful tied around the neck of the bottle.

A jewel was all she needed for the perfect touch of bling.

I fancy myself as the "Queen of the Manor" so it's no surprise that among my stash of stamps, there would be a crown......oh yeah!

So, if you were ever wondering what my brain does when it needs a rest, this is it!!! I play with ink and paper. What fun.

Fairy Tassel Making And A Pink Birdhouse

A pretty fairy angel turned tassel.....Oh my, what could be better than this?? I found this fairy made from resin, and the minute I saw her, I knew. Yep, she would be perfect hanging from a lamp, peg or key off an armoire.
Just look at her face and the pink rose wreath around her head. I love her!!

She's holding a pillow with the words "forever" on it. Look at her dress and the lace around the bottom.
I added a handmade paper rose to the front and one in the back.

I like the color blue and with the pink ribbon and the fringe, the polka dots and stripes look beautiful. How cute are those shoes and socks??
I hope you enjoy my latest tassel, the next one is a pink bird house.

Do you like the combination of pink and brown together? I think they look beautiful and so I created this little cutie pie. A pink birdhouse tassel for your home decor.

Gorgeous ribbons and fringe too, even a white boa!!
These and more can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.

Teacup Stand With Vintage Plates And Sweets

I was lucky enough to come by this pretty teacup stand, and decided to do something a bit different with it.
I scoured and scoured the garage sales and antique shops until I was able to come up with four vintage and very lovely plates. Each plate is in vintage condition, no cracks and no chips. Each plate is different from the other, and very pretty.

A gorgeous plate with pink roses and lots of gold trim. Comes with a faux strawberry cake slice. Looks yummy enough to eat, doesn't it. But you can't, it's fake!! : )

More gold around the rim and beautiful pink roses. This plate holds two mini cupcakes, one chocolate and one strawberry. YumO

Maybe you would prefer cookies instead? Here are three heart shaped chocolate cookies that have been sugared with glass glitter. Decorated with a variety of blooms and some pearls too.

This is the only pink plate that I offer. It's also gold on the rim and have a garden of blooms. Comes with a mini cupcake and a petite four. The icing looks good enough to taste.

I hope you have enjoyed by latest creation. This and more can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.

Pink Spring Birdhouse Tassel

Creating and designing tassel for your home has been something that I have gotten addicted to.
Pretty ribbons, fringe, beads and roses, what's not to love??

This little petite sweetie is my latest and can be found in my etsy shop, SomeplaceInTime.
The house is wooden, painted a baby pink and then decorated with yummy goodness.

I love using these handmade paper roses and seem to find a place in all the things I make to use them.
There is also some beadwork in this tassel.

Pretty pink beads in the shape of hearts......love that!!

This would be adorable hanging from an armoire key, peg, hook or lamp.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have been up to today. Come back and see me again very soon. Thanks for stopping by.

Metal Tray Turned Chalkboard Memo Board

I have so much fun when I find something at a garage sale that I have to have, but really have no idea what I will do with it.
This use to be a metal tray, not silver, but silver looking......Huh? I know what you mean, but it was way to pretty to pass up and the price was spot on! : )

After cleaning her up, I primed her and gave her a couple coats of Heiloom White paint, sealed her with Mod Podge and away we went.
I then gave the painted tray a few coats of Chalkboard paint and she was ready for her debut.

Need a little more room for a message? Yep, we can turn her around and just look at that!
I think there may be something missing.....Oh yes, the easel! She comes with that too.

For now, I am not listing this on my website, but putting it in my Etsy shop instead. You can find this under the name of Someplace In Time.

Pink Roses Pillow~Yummy

When I begin to create, I never know what avenue the design will take. I don't usually have any preformed idea in my head before I start. I begin by selecting the fabric and go with the flow.

I had just received this pretty, vintage lace in the mail from a seller on etsy. I loved it and wanted to marry it with a piece of natural canvas. I also wanted some color, so out came the vintage images. This is what I chose and I think it came out looking beautiful.

All across the top, I added handmade paper roses, gardenias, some silks and faux pearls. Each corner of the image has three vintage buttons for some added texture.

Oh Yeah! I love her!!

She's petite and has a handle just in case you would prefer to hang off a knob, armoire (my favorite way to display) or handle could be placed in the back, out of sight.
This and more can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.
