If you like to sew, you know this is a necessity. I can't imagine not having a pincushion handy by my sewing machine and also on my work bench.
We have come a long way since the red tomato pincushions that our grandmothers and mothers used. Even as I say that, you can still purchase those little red pincushions everywhere sewing items are sold.
I think I prefer the pretty pincushions that are made today by so many talented artists.
Today you can find all colors and shapes of pincushions to choose from. You don't have to sew to enjoy collecting these pretty keepsakes. All you have to do is enjoy their beauty.
I prefer a strawberry pincushion or a pumpkin shaped pincushion because I think you can do so much to decorate them. I have seen cushions in the shapes of animals, and they are adorable, but I don't think roses, ribbons and bling do much for a cat. Ha.
Please don't get me wrong, I love the artistry of animal pincushions and the talent it takes to make them. But, I prefer to get my hands in ribbons and roses, along with some buttons and rhinestones, that's just my preference.
So the next time you find an interesting and beautiful pincushion, take a good look and enjoy what this little gem has to offer you.

Love your pin cushions! I love both colors. It would be hard to pick. I sew and have sewed a lot through the years, but never use pins. I know shame on me...LOL. I do need them for needles though.

I just love your cake under glass. The cake looks so real! I have a beautiful cake stand that is sitting empty that needs one of those faux cakes. ReplyDeleteI totally agree that any sewer needs a pin cushion. I used to have mine in a little box that made it so hard to get them and put them back. I finally got a vintage embroidered one and just love that is holds my pins for me.
Yours are BEAUTIFUL! I love the pink and white one. I'm going to check your etsy sight to see what else ya got in there.

Love the pincushions you have made! I have a very old earring (just 1) that belonged to my late mom. This would be a good way to showcase that earring on a useful item!
