~~THE YEAR IS STARTING OFF JUST FINE~~

So far, 2012 has been very good to me and my family. I have finally found the time to begin to restock my website, Someplace In Thyme. I didn't realize how much was gone until I began to do a little "cleaning" up.
I have finished four new strawberry sachets and plan to get them listed later today. I hope you enjoy them.

Each one is filled with lots of yummy, sweet smelling lavender buds, and decorated with beautiful flowers, ribbons and charms.

All four are different from each other and are so pretty. Just perfect for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or any occasion. Makes the perfect gift.

Paper roses are handmade, pearls, roping and pretty fabric.

A sweet little charm says it all......Love!

You can never go wrong with a silver heart, roses and ribbons.

Vintage buttons too.

I also created three faux cookies with pretty handmade paper roses, pearls and my handmade clay roses.
These can be all be found HERE.http://someplaceinthyme.com/

~~~Pumpkins Coming Your Way~~~
It was 117 degrees today, but knowing that fall is on the way, and getting very excited to say goodbye to this heat, I found myself creating pumpkins today.
These will appear on Someplace In Thyme by this weekend.
Cute acorns along with roses, mini pumpkins, berries and raffia can be found on the top.
I adore the colors of the fabric and the look of the tops. Perfect for table top or just about anywhere you would like some autumn color.
I found this beautiful fabric in the closet and can not believe I had not used all that I had. It has a tie dyed look and feel to it which I think is perfect for pumpkin making. I have not seen any since.
I used some natural pods in this one along with blooms, ribbons and raffia.
These three beautiful pumpkins will be the only large ones I will make this year.
I will have my popular mini pumpkins listed on my website this week.
I also think these would make great gifts too.
Be sure to check in often as I will be listing my tassels and they will come with free shipping.
Yep, cooler temps are on the way.
French Inspired With Natural Canvas
I don't know why this looks and feels so French inspired to me. Maybe it's the natural canvas, the vintage crochet work of the doily, or maybe it's the Eiffel tower tag. I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels that way to me.
As you can see here, this is another one of my pocket pillows, but this pocket was created using a vintage crochet doily. I just love this look.
Silks, handmade paper roses, a button, ribbons and some faux pearls grace the top.
The hardest thing about what I create, is knowing when to stop embellishing. I am having so much fun designing and bringing beautiful items to my website, it's hard to stop playing.
This pillow is listed in my etsy shop under the name SomeplaceInTime. It will appear on my website later today to tomorrow.
Having Fun In My Studio Today
I have to admit, I count my blessings everyday. As I sit here and blog, I can smell the sweet scent of Jasmine coming in through the family room door. It's just beautiful and reminds me to not only stop and smell the roses, but also to be grateful for being able to do what I do......bringing you lovely items to enjoy. What a life!
This is my latest creation, a glass vanity bottle, decorated with lots and lots of pretties.
Working (maybe I should say "playing") with strands of faux pearls, crimped seam binding and lots of handmade as well as silk flowers, life is certainly a joy each day and working in my studio becomes not work at all.........just fun!
The topper has been painted a creamy white and decorated on one side with jewels. I also layered pearls around the top. Pearls, flowers, ribbons and glue, what more could a girl ask for??!!
This label is one of my favs. I added some little gems to the bottom and also surrounded the edges with an opaque glitter. Yummy!!
My latest pillow creation in lavenders and purples. It's a roll pillow with added blooms on the ends. What could be more romantic?
Isn't she just lovely? Surrounded by ribbons, flowers and hummingbirds. Soft and romantic, you get the feeling she is from another time.....
Below the image, this one of a kind pillow is embellished with an applique pearls and sequins.
Lots of pretty flowers on the ends.
This pillow has a double ruffle and the ends are a beautiful, sheer fabric.
What a day and I am very happy. I hope your days are as fun filled and bright as mine was today.
Thank you for stopping by and these two items can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.
YUMMY COOKIES ON A PEDESTAL PLATE
A trio of yummy faux cookies, decorated and presented to you on a beautiful pedestal plate.
Years ago I was watching an episode of the Carol Duval show on DIY when they had a guest speaker that shared her secret for creating lovely pedestal plates. This is one of those that I created using a gorgeous vintage plate and a glass candle stick.
Pretty faux cookies in my favorite color, yellow and decorated with paper roses and a paper pansy. This one of a kind display would be so pretty in any setting, kitchen, dining room or any room of the home.
Don't you think this looks good enough to eat!!??
Not only is yellow my favorite color, but these cookies look perfect with this lovely plate. These will be available on my website someplace in thyme later today.
