Glass bottles of all different shapes and sizes have become very popular right now.
They are so beautiful left alone to admire there colors and shapes, but~
the bottle you see above was one I found in a favorite shop, and I feel in love with the glass bird on top.
I decided to get one for my website, Someplace In Thyme and do a make over on it.
I took some vintage lace and tied a bow around the neck of the glass bottle. On top of the bow, I added ribbons in various colors, layering them as I went.
Then it's just a matter of adding all the little things you love. For instance, roses, pearls, charms, and some beads off a strand made for wrapping around candles etc.
Meanwhile, don't be afraid to pull out the glue gun and all your trims to have some fun. You might just surprise yourself, or someone else with the beautiful creations you make.
If you are not in the creating mood, this lovely one of a kind beauty can be found on my website.

~~~Vintage Jello Mold Ornaments~~~HOW TO
Do you ever wonder what to do with all the many designs of vintage jello molds when you see them at garage sales and flea markets?
I found these in an antique store while visiting family in Colorado Springs. I was only able to purchase four of them, but I had never seen the tree pattern with a tree in the center. I knew right away what I could create with them.
All I did was clean these up with lots of soap and hot water. You can use alcohol too, just to make sure you get all the oil and grease off the tin.
I then use a primer and paint.
Because I am not at the point of being able to paint my own roses, I use beautiful decals.
Modge Podge and glass glitter finish them off with a little sparkle.
You can then decide to decorate the tops or leave them the way they are.
So, the next time you see these little gems and wonder what to use them for, think of redoing them for someone special, or for yourself.
I think they would be great to decorate a package too. Have fun!!
Birds And Nests
I am not too sure what it is about birds and nests, but they steal my heart.
Living in the desert, we have birds all year long, esp the sweet, little hummers.
I had this cardboard bird house and the cute tissue paper with a bird theme from 7 Gypsies and decided I couldn't wait any longer.......I had to create something special with them.
This is what I came up with. You could use this as an ornament, or have it sit out all year long on a cottage shelf.
The roof of the house is decorated with handmade paper roses, ribbons, a piece of vintage lace and of course, a nest with pearls for eggs.
No birdhouse would be complete without some eggs and of course, a nest.
This and more can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.
Pink Sweetness
Baby sweetness in this cute shoe, has been given a new life and purpose. It's wonderful to think that some beautiful and Innocent child once walked in this shoe. It warms my heart and makes me smile. It's a happy day.
Believe me when I say that I am trying very hard to learn to paint my own roses, but it's not coming easy to me. I have lots of respect for those that have mastered this art, but somehow I was not born with the painting gene....not at all. Therefore, pretty rose decals will have to suffice.
Carol from the Polka Dot Closet has a tutorial on how to make your own decals and I might have to give that a try until I finally master my own roses. I will not give up, that is for sure. Until then, I think the decals are beautiful and they do just what I want them too.
So cute for a new born or simply setting on a shelf in a special place.
The same can be said for this petite set of glass shakers. Re-purposed into a cottage, shabby and very chic display for any home. Great for gifts too.
If you like to go to the flea markets or garage sales, keep in mind all the sweetness that you can create by thinking "outside the box."
These pretties and more can be found on my website, Someplace In Thyme.
Just Listed On Someplace In Thyme~Snowpeople
I don't know what it is with me lately, but I am lovin all things French and in particular, snowpeople.
This is for a set of three, all with a Paris theme and glass glitter. I thought they came out so sweet and just perfect for hanging on the tree.
This is a combination of French and cottage with lots of handmade roses, vintage lace and ribbons.
I think these are my favorites for sure. I didn't think I could love snowpeople as much as this. It must be something in the air.
These are not made of a heavy cardboard, but are made of wood and painted, then decorated.
If you would enjoy seeing how I made them, please check out my personal blog Someplace In Thyme.
I hope to get these listed in my shop this evening. Have a great day!
Paris Themed Snowmen
My blogging seems to have come to a halt this summer and going into fall I haven't seen much improvement. I once again have to say I am sorry for all the lack of posts. I will try harder.
One excuse I do have is that I have been very busy creating some pretty things for my website, Someplace In Thyme. The latest is this cute set of shabby Paris, Frenchie snowmen ornaments. I hope you enjoy them.
Made with my french style/themed tissue paper, these have all been decorated with a romantic style.
Vintage lace, ribbons, pearls and roses all add to the charm.
There is even a snowman with a little touch of pink. Very sweet and very shabby cute!
I hope you enjoy.
~~New Ornaments, Just Listed~~
You enjoyed my shabby Paris French hearts so much that I thought you might enjoy some shabby Paris French gingerbread men.
This sweet ornament has a bit of pink in her. All these are made with heavy cardboard that has been covered with layers of french tissue paper.
I decorated the tops with handmade paper roses, laces, ribbons and some charms. The above gingerbread man has what I like to call, the keys to the city charm.
A little mini Eiffel tower charm sits just off to the right on this gingerbread man.
Paris, chocolat and a pretty heart charm give her all the beauty she needs. What lovely gifts for teacher these would make, as well as tree ornaments, cute on a bottle of wine or package too. I hope you enjoy!!
If you are more into the cottage style, you might prefer this shabby goodness with all the icing and glitter, as well as the handmade pink roses.
Looks yummy enough to eat!!
The last set today is a set of four, wooden and painted white, sugared with German glass glitter and decorated with a gorgeous rose decal and handmade paper rose.
I am off to list these on my website Someplace In Thyme. I hope to see you there.
Just Listed This Week
You have seen me talk about these sweet hearts before, but I finally was able to finish a set of four. They are cuter than I ever imagined and would be so pretty on packages, wine bottles, as gifts for teacher or friends. Also perfect for hanging on the tree. What a Paris delight!
One heart comes with a crown, fit for a queen!
Or, how about the keys to the city?
The last two both have Eiffel Tower charms added for the French effect we all love so much.
I have been working hard on bringing so many new ideas to Someplace In Thyme. I hope you will return often to see what has been added.
SOLD.
Wooden snowflake ornies are here.
Shabbylane Shops will be in the Nashville Christmas show this fall, so many of my items will be on sale there. If you see something you are interested in and it's not available, please email me.
~~~Pumpkins Coming Your Way~~~
It was 117 degrees today, but knowing that fall is on the way, and getting very excited to say goodbye to this heat, I found myself creating pumpkins today.
These will appear on Someplace In Thyme by this weekend.
Cute acorns along with roses, mini pumpkins, berries and raffia can be found on the top.
I adore the colors of the fabric and the look of the tops. Perfect for table top or just about anywhere you would like some autumn color.
I found this beautiful fabric in the closet and can not believe I had not used all that I had. It has a tie dyed look and feel to it which I think is perfect for pumpkin making. I have not seen any since.
I used some natural pods in this one along with blooms, ribbons and raffia.
These three beautiful pumpkins will be the only large ones I will make this year.
I will have my popular mini pumpkins listed on my website this week.
I also think these would make great gifts too.
Be sure to check in often as I will be listing my tassels and they will come with free shipping.
Yep, cooler temps are on the way.

~~Like It Or Not~~It's On It's Way
It's so hard to think of the holidays when the temperature outside is 113 degrees during the day and never falls below 100 at night.
For the first time, I find myself ahead of the game and that makes me one very happy girl.
This is the last of 23 stockings. You heard me right, I created and finished 23 stockings so far this year.
Yes, I am a happy girl!!
I am participating in the holiday show in TN this fall. Many of my stockings and ornaments will be for sale in the Shabby Lane Shops booth. We were lucky to get two booths so hopefully we will have lots of room for all the goodies we will be selling. Shabby Lane Shops will also appear on T.V. how exciting will that be?
I used vintage crochet work and pearls over this gorgeous teacup fabric, one of my favorites.
Comes with a hand painted jingle bell at the toe and some pearls too. :)
Back by popular demand are my snow people. I will be adding them to my website the first of Sept. along with all the orther ornies you see here. If you can't wait until then, you may be able to still find a few at
Someplace In Thyme.
So cute mini mittens. These too will be returning.
I never dreamed when I made these pretty bells that they would be so popular. I sold out of them last year and plan on making many more for you this year. I do have the one above and another with pink and white roses, not yet listed, but for sale none the less.
I was playing around with this pretty strawberry sachet today, when I discovered how pretty she would be hanging from the Christmas tree. There is a ribbon loop which would make it the perfect ornie, or gift.
Be sure to visit often, as I will be listing these and more in my shop and in my etsy shop as well.
